Overview

KingProof PVF is a specially engineered non-woven polypropylene (PP) fleece co-extruded with a highly flexible soft PVC membrane, designed for use with structural reinforced concrete. KingProof PVF is installed before the steel reinforcement is fixed and the concrete is poured. The unique configuration of the membrane enables a full mechanical bond with freshly poured concrete, eliminating water migration between the membrane and the structure. It offers superior resistance to water, gases (e.g. radon), salts and chemical exposure, making it ideal for demanding below-grade applications.

Applications

  • Foundations and basements
  • Retaining walls and floor slabs
  • Underground car parks and garages
  • Tunnel walls and base slabs
  • Marine and salt-contaminated environments
  • Concrete structures in chemically aggressive environments

Advantages

  • Fully bonded system – forms a permanent mechanical bond with freshly poured concrete
  • Excellent mechanical properties; tough and durable
  • Lightweight and flexible, easy to handle and install on site
  • Reliable protection against lateral water pressure up to 6 bar
  • Excellent chemical resistance; suitable for saline or alkaline environments
  • Effective barrier against radon-gas infiltration
  • Can bridge cracks up to 3.2 mm while withstanding 6.9 bar of water pressure
  • 50 mm clear selvedge along the edge for overlapping

Usage & Packaging

Packaging

Thickness 1.9 mm. Width 1.1 m or 2.2 m (+1%). Length 25 m. Roll 40 kg (1.1 m width) or 79.5 kg (2.2 m width). Pallet 9 rolls/pallet.

Coverage

Roll area approx. 27.5 m² (1.1 m width) or 55 m² (2.2 m width); minimum 50 mm edge overlap and 300 mm staggered roll ends, so allow extra for overlaps.

Storage

KingProof PVF has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of manufacture when stored in the original packaging at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C, kept dry and protected from direct sunlight, snow, ice, water and heat sources. Do not stack sharp items or additional pallets on top of the membrane during transport and storage.
