Task at Hand

As part of the foundation work in the largest expansion of the Prophet Mosque in Al-Madina — started in April 2015 and aiming to increase total capacity to 1,800,000 people — the treatment of pile heads represented a major challenge.

Pile-head treatment had to be conducted using a flowable, high-performance micro-concrete characterised by a very fast strength-development rate and exceptional ultimate compressive strength.

KingKrete Solution

KingRep FL Range

A high-performance, shrinkage-compensated, free-flowing micro-concrete — a blend of cement, dry powders, and selected aggregates which, mixed with water, produces a self-compacting, free-flowing micro-concrete suitable for large-volume concrete repairs.

The range is available in three grades: KingRep 60FL and KingRep 70FL for repair void thicknesses between 50 and 200 mm, and KingRep 80FL for thicknesses between 50 and 400 mm.
